Radio Scotvoid & The Curios All-Stars | Live @ The Gulu-Gulu Cafe

Freeform improvised sounds recorded LIVE, Summer 2008 @ The Gulu Gulu Cafe, Salem MA 01970

The Gulu’s weekly event Friday Night Spins has taken on a life of its own. This Friday’s featured performer is Salem’s own Radio Scotvoid. I must say that his performances over the past several months have been nothing less than extraordinary. His work transcends the electronica genre and depending who shows up to perform with Scott dictates where the music is going to go. Jazz, Blues, Trip-Hop, Rock... you never know quite what you are going to end up hearing but it always ends up being interesting and very very very cool.

Radio Scotvoid performs at the Gulu-Gulu in Salem on the 1st Friday of every month. Don't miss it!

Cheers to Noah Britton, Jeff Murray, Steve Serwacki, Mike Miksis, Noel Snow, Dennis Monagle, Tony Lika, Russ Lane, Tiegh Benod, Julie Dukas, Curtis Caswell, Mark Lovett, Steve Feldman and all the staff at The Gulu Gulu Cafe in Salem, MA.

Thank you to Mark and Gordon of Rubens for letting us do a live remix of Cayla's Third! It was all out of love. Cayla's Third written by Mark Flanagan/Gordon MacDermid (Herb Recordings)

Clutter | Earth Monkey is 50

A special hour and a bit mix by Clutter of past Earth Monkey releases has been released by INQ Mag and can be heard, downloaded, i-pod subscribed etc here.

INQ Mag is a netaudio resource specializing in podcasts of mixes by net label owners of their own catalogue and past episodes have included test tube, audiotong, kahvi and are all well worth checking out.

INQ Mag said of Earth Monkey...

'After reaching the number of 50 releases, and some other over parallel series such as Talking Monkey or remix projects amongst others, Earth Monkey Productions opens its doors to Monographic Podcast.

Together with all the wide and rich musical aspects, the project curated by Shaun Blezard (aka Clutter), is exciting because part of its efforts are focused on a didactical approach for youngsters called Monkey Noises, specifically on the project of concrete music 60 Seconds, collaborating with pupils of St Bernards School (Cumbria, UK) for its production'

Radio Scotvoid | The Chiptune Megamix

Radio Scotvoid - Chiptune MegamixDownload or stream: Hi-Fi : Lo-Fi : Download: Cover

The Chiptune Megamix @ The Internet Archive

Last december I put the word out to all chiptuners on myspace to submit a track for my megamix...which was my chance to premiere this d.i.y. sub-genre of 8 bit (sid chip) music - which is a combination of retro video game music mixed in with modern dance rhythms like breaks/screamo/hardcore.

Also it gave me the daunting task of eq-ing, blending, time-stretching and mixing 22 songs ...with added gabber kik!!! Into one 74 minute megamix than could be burned to a cd...

Play it at your youth club, play it on xmas day, play it in your car/i-pod...put it on repeat...and enjoy for now your first installment of the world's best chiptuners-in-the-mix!!!

Featuring: 4Bit Bonsai | DJ Fhantom | Eric Chiptune | Fighter X | Fish and Chip 8 Bit | Henry Homesweet | IPAGHOST | Kendo | Lazy Comet | Monster Plastic | Myst | Rainbow Jump Orchestra | Sabrepulse | Teethandfeet
